The System Transformation Hub (STH) strengthens holistic decision-making processes.
In Europe, pressure on land use has intensified significantly in recent years due to competing demands from energy, agriculture, forestry, urban development and other sectors. Despite this development EU policy decisions on land use are rarely taken in an integrated, cross-sectoral manner. Quite the contrary: Institutional and sectoral silos jeopardize EU climate and biodiversity targets, societal well-being as well as economic resilience.
Our partner, The Systems Transformation Hub (STH)*, a strategic alliance of five leading think tanks, transformation facilitators and innovation agencies, is committed to strengthening holistic decision-making processes in EU land use policy and other important policy areas.
In the pilot phase, STH develops trade-off scenarios and use these insights in facilitating dialogue between EU policy makers. The goal: establish common ground, help overcome silo thinking and integrate diverse perspectives into important policy decisions.
The results of this first phase are expected to feed into on-going work on the EU Bioeconomy Strategy 2025 and into the next reform phase of theCommon Agricultural Policy (CAP) in early 2026.
