Transforming finance for social and ecological justice

Innovators who address global challenges such as climate change, social inequality and economic exclusion need finance to make their ideas scale. But not any kind of finance!

The current rules of funding and investment do not reflect what impact-focused innovators need for their ambitious missions.

The Innovative Finance Initiative (IFI) aims to change this. It looks at gaps in the existing finance system and together with leading experts, foundations, investors and civil society organizations co-creates financing models that work for more people, more outcome and more types of organizations.

IFI is mapping existing structures, building an interactive knowledge platform, creating spaces for radical experiments and networking of an international community across sector boundaries. It is about more than new products: It is about new relationships, new rules of the game and new responsibilities. Ideas that are not heard elsewhere are allowed to grow in this space.

This way, IFI starts where real change begins: at the core of the system. And works towards a finance system that does not manage the status quo, but allows fair, inclusive and courageous futures to thrive.
