Reliable Structures for daycare in Germany

As a formative environment, daycare centers are central to children's early years of development. Understanding and strengthening them as places of early support, encouragement, and growth is a smart societal investment. At the same time, reliable infrastructure is lacking in many places – places, staff, and above all, funding: by Dezernat Zukunft's own estimate, around 11 billion euros are missing every year. So far, there is no lasting financing solution.

Dezernat Zukunft's goal is to develop models for how funding for daycare centers as stable educational institutions could look like on a lasting basis and how public budgets could even save money in the process. The models are being developed in dialogue with experts and brought into politics and public administration.
